We are very excited to announce that Body Alive Yoga will be hosting it’s first Yoga Teacher Training Program in February of 2016. This Yoga Alliance accredited 200 hour program will provide you with a powerful foundation from which to deepen and expand your practice. Whether you are simply looking to dive deeper into the philosophy and teachings of Yoga for your own knowledge or you are feeling called to share your love of the practice with others this program is for you!
 
This 3 week program will help you explore the practice of Yoga and incorporate many of its different aspects into your own life. By living the practice and walking the path both as a practitioner and teacher you be coming from a place of personal knowing and experience. It is our hope that from this deeply personal knowing you will complete the program feeling confident, prepared and ready to share the practice with others (if you choose).
 
This life changing program will cover many topics and will explore how they can be incorporated into our personal practice and into the class setting. The program will consist of study and practice on the following topics:
 
-Fundamental techniques of Yoga: 
Including asana (including the different categories of asana), pranayama, kriyas, meditation, mantra and chanting. Through this exploration will be learn their role in your personal practice and future classes.
 
Yogic philosophy and its application to our lives and teaching: 
We will dive into traditional texts and teachings to learn more about how this ancient practice has such powerful applicability to our modern lives. Learn more about the guiding concepts of Yoga (Yamas and Niyamas) that help us live well and make choices aligned with our true self and consistent with our practice.
 
-Anatomy and Physiology of the Human Body: 
By learning more about your physical and energetic makeup you will begin to explore asanas in new depths to heighten your experience and understanding of them. Learn more about the form and function of your muscles, bones and tissues and dive into the myo-fascial meridians (the web of tissues that weaves us together that forms the basis of each asana). Our focus will be on giving you a sting knowledge base so that you can continue to practice and teach safely for many years to come.
 
-The art of teaching Yoga:
Diving into the art of sharing of Yoga with others will include: creative and fluid class sequencing, principles of demonstrating and teaching asanas, adjustments and assists within asanas, learning and teaching styles, language and the ethics of being a teacher.
 
The program will be scheduled so that you can fully integrate yourself into your learning and study as well as take time to enjoy your stunning surroundings on your own and with fellow students.
 
Dates of Course: February 16, 2016 to March 5th, 2016
 
Save $200 if you register before Dec 31st, a $500 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Tuition for the course is $2000. 
 
We are proud to be a Yoga Alliance registered 200 Hour School. Ideally participants will have a minimum of a year of steady personal practice, but this is not a requirement. 
Important Information:
 
Meals and accommodations are not included in the tuition. Students will be responsible for brining their own lunch, snacks and water for the day. There are several hostels and other options for lodging within walking distance of the studio, we are happy to make suggestions for where to stay.
